As part of the expansion plans for Wellcome Genome Campus, reserved matters have been lodged with South Cambridgeshire District Council to build two cutting edge new Life Science Research buildings.

The buildings are due to deliver over 20,000 sqm of space for research and science translation uses, food and drink outlets and ancillary facilities. The plans also include landscaping and associated works as part of the ongoing developments.

The design of the new buildings highlights a dedication to creating visually appealing and functional spaces that support cutting-edge research and foster a sense of community. These new facilities that will enhance the new expanded Campus and deliver opportunities for new activities, research and commercial endeavours.

The Wellcome Genome Campus is home to a growing community of world leading institutes, organisations and experts in genomics, biodata, health data and data science, using machine learning and AI to discover new science, and improve lives for everyone.

Over the next few years, the overall size of the Campus will grow from 125 acres to 440 acres and the number of people working on it is expected to increase from around 3,000 to between 7,000 and 9,000.
